Tire Firing Challenges Cleared at Lafarge Canada’s Brookfield Plant

Recent challenges to the firing of tires at the Lafarge Canada plant in Brookfield, Nova Scotia.  In the latest news, the judge reviewing a challenge to the approval by the provincial Environmental Minister to conduct a one year trial burn on tires found that there was no valid reason to overturn the decision.   This decision clears the way for Lafarge Canada to begin the trial burn shortly.  Lafarge Canada is expecting a significant reduction in greenhous gas and NOx emissions as a result of the trial burn.
