In a sign of the continued improvement in the North American market, it appears as though Lafarge is seeking to resume limited operations at the Kamloops plant in western Canada.  The plant had been mothballed two years ago due to market conditions in the region.  Now, Lafarge is seeking permission from local environmental authorities to operate a pumice dryer and a gypsum granulator.
