Supplementary Cementitious Material News

The production and use of secondary (or supplementary) cementitous materials is one area that we like to pay some attention.  A series of recent articles on a newer cement product using flyash as a base raw material caught our attention.  The product, dubbed PozzoSlag(R) by VHSC, reportedly provides an improved set time for earlier strengths and is being produced on a commercial scale in Texas.  Overall, the substitution of PozzoSlag in concrete is expected to produce a lower carbon footprint for construction projects.
