Castle Hayne Plant Public Hearing Scheduled

Since Titan announced plans in 2008 to construct a new cement plant in North Carolina, the Castle Hayne plant has been in the news quite often. While a permit was issued in 2011, construction on the project has been slow to proceed due to market conditions. This past week it has been announced that a hearing will be held in early August for public comment on proposed changes to the permit issued in 2011. Among changes being sought in the permit are an extension to the construction period, as well as modifications to the permit levels based on the the revisions to federal regulations.
